“Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Award for the Best Scientist and Group of Scientists of the Year”
The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation announces the competition “Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Award for the Best Scientist and Group of Scientists of the Year”.
The aim of the competition is to encourage Georgian and international researchers to actively and fruitfully engage in science and technology, as well as to recognize outstanding achievements, and to encourage and popularize research on Georgian science and Georgia.
The award for exceptional achievements and contributions in science and technology is given once, on a competitive basis.
The competition provides for a one-time award to a scientist/research group.
In the 2016 competition, the Foundation’s award will be given in the following categories:
a) The best foreign scientist of the year working in the field of Kartvelology (priority is given to Rustaveliology);
b) Best Young Scientist of 2016;
c) Best Scientist of 2016;
d) Best Scientific Research Group of 2016.
The following can participate in the competition to win awards according to the categories:
a) To receive the award for the best foreign scientist in the field of Kartvelology in 2016, a researcher working in the sciences studying Georgia, in particular in the field of Kartvelology, who is a foreign citizen and holds a doctorate or equivalent academic degree.
b) To win the Best Young Scientist Award in 2016, a young researcher with a doctorate or equivalent academic degree, a citizen of Georgia, actively working in the scientific field, who has reached the age of 35 by the end of the submission of competition documents;
c) To receive the 2016 Best Scientist Award, a researcher who is a citizen of Georgia and holds a PhD or equivalent academic degree and is actively engaged in scientific research;
d) To win the award for the best scientific research group of 2016, a scientific research group consisting of at least 3 (three) Georgian citizens and researchers actively engaged in scientific activities. The group may include master’s and doctoral student(s), as well as foreign scientist(s). The competition documentation must be submitted in Georgian.
The English-language forms of the competition documentation are to be filled out only by the candidate nominated in the category of the best foreign scientist in the field of Kartvelology in 2016. The competition documents can be submitted via the competition e-mail no later than August 5, 2016 (18:00).
