Additional Open Competition – Scientific Positions at Independent Research Units, GTU
Georgian Technical University (hereinafter “the University”) announces an open competition for scientific positions at the following independent research units for a 5-year term: positions include Chief Scientific Researcher, Senior Scientific Researcher, and Scientific Researcher.

I. Application Submission and Competition Schedule
- Additional information for applicants (including number of positions per research unit, detailed requirements, applicant questionnaire, application form, and employment contract template) is available on the University website: www.gtu.ge (corresponding institute link). Applications will be accepted from May 13 to May 15, 2019, 10:00–17:00 at the addresses listed above.
- The competition will be held on May 20, 2019. Preliminary results will be published on May 21, 2019, by the respective competition commission at a visible location and on the institute’s website: www.gtu.ge (corresponding institute link).
- Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure may be submitted to the competition commission by May 24, 2019.
- Employment contracts with successful candidates will be signed starting June 1, 2019.
II. Competition Requirements
- Main requirements:
- Chief Scientific Researcher – must hold a doctoral or equivalent degree and have at least 6 years of scientific/research experience.
- Senior Scientific Researcher – must hold a doctoral or equivalent degree.
- Scientific Researcher – must hold a master’s or equivalent degree.
- Applicants must submit personally (or via a representative):
- Completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms available on the institute’s website), along with supporting documents: diploma, certificate, license, reference, etc. (original and copy);
- Document confirming scientific/academic degree (original and copy);
- Document(s) confirming scientific/research experience, certified by the relevant organization or institution;
- List of scientific and teaching-methodological publications, certified by the relevant organization or competent authority;
- Identification card (original and copy);
- Two photos, 3×4 cm.
III. Competition Procedure
- The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, University Statutes, and the respective research unit’s rules for hiring scientific personnel, which applicants can review on the University website and with the competition commission.
- The competition commission will consider the candidate’s qualifications and competence in relation to the position, including scientific, research, practical, and other achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits. Interview results (at the commission’s discretion) will also be taken into account.
- Competition results may be appealed in court according to applicable legislation.
