Open competition – positions of the head of the structural unit of the Institute of Buildings, Special Systems and Engineering Support of GTU

The Scientific Council of the Institute of Buildings, Special Systems and Engineering Support of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the positions of Head of the Structural Unit:

• Head of the Space Transportable Structures Department;

• Head of the Department of Above-ground Transportable Structures;

• Head of Engineering Support Department. Conditions for holding the competition:

1. Main conditions of the competition:

a) The head of the structural unit must meet the requirements for the chief scientific officer of this institute. In particular, having a doctorate or equivalent academic degree, at least 6 years of experience in scientific research activities;

Additional requirements:

a) The Head of the Space and Ground Transportable Structures Department is required to have knowledge of graphic and computational programs;

b) The Head of the Engineering Support Department is required to have work experience in one of the following areas:

– Ammunition and weapons systems;

– Military art and history; – The art of acting in emergency situations;

– Engineering operations in combat;

– Military engineering art;

– Infrastructure, communications and transport in war and emergency situations, in emergency operations.

a-b) At least three scientific papers published in international and local publications within the last 6 years according to the profile;

a-b) Copyright: on discovery (diploma), on invention (copyright certificate or patent);

a-b) Participation in local and international conferences;

a-b) Participation in international scientific and other projects;

a-b) results obtained through scientific activity that have gained recognition;

a-b) Knowledge of the use of computer programs and modern information and electronic technologies (office – Word, Excel, graphics – AutoCAD Inventor and others, calculators – Lira, Ansys, MSC Nastran).

2. The contestant must submit:

a) Document confirming scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

b) Document confirming scientific and research experience (experience);

c) List of scientific papers, certified by the signature and seal of a competent person of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit;

d) Identity card (original and photocopy);

e) List of works carried out according to the profile;

f) 2 photos with a picture of ¾;

g) Curriculum Vitae (CV).

3. Deadlines for receiving applications and conducting the competition:

Applications will be accepted from November 19-24, 2018, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the following address: Kostava St. #68b, Room #614.

Interviews with the contestants will be held on November 26, 2018, the preliminary results will be published by the Scientific Council on November 27, 2018, and applications/complaints regarding violations of the competition rules will be submitted to the Scientific Council by November 30.

The competition will be held in accordance with the “Law of Georgia on Higher Education” and the Institute’s regulations, which the contestant can familiarize himself with on the websites of the university and the institute.

The results of the competition may be appealed in court, in accordance with the rules established by Georgian legislation.
