A competition with the motto is being announced for undergraduate and graduate students at GTU.
Original solution – safe gas
The aim of the competition is to identify students endowed with innovative talents, who will subsequently receive comprehensive support: an individual study schedule will be assigned, special educational and cognitive-educational programs will be developed for them, students will be involved in solving and implementing scientific, applied, problem issues, and will join the GTU “Creators’ Club”. Club members will receive named scholarships and their innovative activities will be noted in the university’s graduation diploma. Competition task: Gas leak alarm and monitoring system in residential apartments A group of scientists and specialists from the Georgian Technical University and “Analizkhelsatso” LLC are working on creating a household gas leak detection and monitoring system, the price of which will be accessible to the population. Purpose of the system: The purpose of the monitoring system is to detect the fact of gas leakage. In addition, the system must receive a signal from the transmitter and determine in which apartment of the apartment building the gas leak occurred. At the same time, the system must issue a command that is sent to any of the executing mechanisms. Presentation form The presentation of the competition work must be made in PowerPoint. It must include a detailed description of the device and system (functional, structural diagrams, etc.). The report must necessarily include a brief overview of the current achievements in the world around the competition topic. It is desirable that the contestant create a working model of the presented device and system. The organizers of the competition will assist those wishing to participate in creating a model and organizing a competition group. The Georgian Technical University undertakes that the idea/project presented by the student will not be made public and all issues related to its further implementation will be resolved by mutual agreement. The author of the winning project will be awarded 600 L. The deadline for submitting competition works is May 5, 2012. The works must be placed in two closed envelopes. One should contain only the proposal and motto of the author (authors), and the other – the motto and the name of the author (authors).
