Poster Competition – “Combating Desertification and Sustainable Land Management Perspectives in Georgia”

To mark the International Day to Combat Desertification, the Environmental Information and Education Center (EIEC) under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture invites participation in the poster competition “Combating Desertification and Sustainable Land Management Perspectives in Georgia.”

Participation in activities dedicated to the International Day to Combat Drought and Desertification is a unique opportunity to remind everyone that combating desertification is possible, its mitigation achievable, and that the main path to this goal is strengthening public engagement and cooperation at all levels.

Participants are invited to create a poster and share their views on combating desertification and land degradation.

The competition is open to anyone who:

• Is interested in environmental issues
• Understands the severity of land degradation and desertification in Georgia
• Believes they can propose unique perspectives and solutions to address these issues

Posters must be submitted electronically in PDF format by June 17 to: info@eiec.gov.ge

The authors of the 10 best posters will participate in a lecture-seminar in Georgia on desertification and sustainable land management. A poster exhibition will also be held during the event, and the three best posters will be awarded special prizes!
