Grant competition for scientific-research internships abroad
Scientific Grants Competition for Scientific Research Internships of Young Scientists Abroad The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation announces a competition for state scientific grants for scientific research internships of young scientists abroad. The aim of the competition is to support young scientists in improving their professional qualifications, establishing international scientific contacts, deepening their experience and mastering the latest research technologies in leading scientific centers abroad.
To obtain funding, a grant application can be submitted by a young scientist who is a Georgian citizen permanently residing in Georgia and who is fluent in English or the state language of the country where he/she plans to do his/her internship, has a doctoral academic degree or an equivalent scientific degree awarded within the last 7 years from the date of the competition announcement, or is a resident or doctoral student and is engaged in scientific research activities at a Georgian scientific research or authorized higher educational institution.
A young scientist who has received a grant from the same competition within the last year will not be able to participate in the 2016 competition (at least 1 year must have passed since the end of the grant period received in the internship competition).
The minimum duration of the grant project is 2 months, and the maximum duration is 6 months. If necessary, a request for 7, 8 months is also possible, which requires additional justification of the internship period by the applicant. (Detailed work schedule for additional months and written justification of the need for additional months from the inviting party).
The scientific-research internship should begin on October 1, 2016 and end on November 1, 2017.
The grant funding requested from the Fund should not exceed 35,000 GEL.
The project application required by the competition, with completed attachments and all remaining relevant documentation in scanned PDF format, must be sent electronically to the following email address of the Foundation: ig@rustaveli.org.ge, by 6:00 PM on May 17, 2016;
The application for participation in the 2016 State Scientific Grants Competition for Scientific-Research Internships of Young Scientists Abroad, printed and signed, must be submitted to the Foundation’s Chancellery by 5:00 PM on May 19, 2016.
