Announcement of the Council of the Faculty of Energy of the Georgian Technical University regarding the scheduling of elections for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Energy.
Based on Article 29 of the Law of Georgia on “Higher Education,” Article 21 of the Statute of the Georgian Technical University approved by Order №133/n of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia dated September 9, 2013, and Articles 2(9), 24, 25, and 26 of the Regulation on “Elections of the Governing Bodies of Georgian Technical University and its Faculties” – the Council of the Faculty of Energy of GTU, at its session on May 1, 2025 (Minutes №6), has decided:
1. Elections for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Energy shall be scheduled for June 24, 2025.
2. The Dean of the Faculty shall be elected by the Faculty Council for a term of 4 years. The same person may be elected Dean for no more than two consecutive terms.
3. The position of Dean may be held by a person who is a Professor or Associate Professor of the faculty.
4. Candidates must submit their application and supporting documents to the Faculty Electoral Commission from June 3 to June 17, 2025, at Tbilisi, Kostava St. 75, 3rd floor, Room №314. Applications are accepted from 10:00 to 17:00, excluding weekends and public holidays.
5. The application must include:
a) Copy of identity document (ID card or passport);
b) Certificate of the candidate’s academic position at the Faculty of Energy of GTU;
c) Documents confirming the candidate’s compliance with the required qualifications;
d) Action plan.
6. Public presentation of candidates’ action plans to the Faculty Council is scheduled for June 23, 2025.
7. The Academic Council, by a qualified majority (2/3) through a secret ballot, individually decides on the eligibility of persons aged 65 or older to participate in the competition for an administrative position. Such candidates must additionally submit the Academic Council’s consent to the Faculty Electoral Commission. Interested persons must submit a request to the Academic Council by May 23, 2025, through the University Affairs Department (address: Kostava St. #77, Administrative Building, 2nd floor).
Attendance of the person at the Academic Council during the review of their case is mandatory; otherwise, the matter will not be considered.
8. The elections will be conducted in accordance with the University-wide Regulation on “Elections of the Governing Bodies of Georgian Technical University and its Faculties.”
