The Scientific Council of the Hydro-Meteorology Institute of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the following scientific position:

• Department of Climatology and Agrometeorology: Senior Researcher – 2 (0.5 staff unit)

Applications will be accepted from May 13, 2025, to May 15, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the address: Tbilisi, 150g Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue, Hydro-Meteorology Institute, responsible person: Naili Kapanadze, Tel: 555 48 84 09, 032 295 10 47, 032 265 03 22.

The competition will be held on May 19, 2025. The preliminary results of the competition will be published no later than May 19, 2025, by the competition commission in a prominent place and on the institute’s website.

Applications/complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the competition commission until May 22, 2025. Additional information for applicants (application form, interview time and place) will be published on the institute’s website.

II. Competition Conditions

The main conditions of the competition:

A person who has a Doctoral or equivalent academic degree can occupy the position of Senior Researcher;

The person appointed as a Senior Researcher is elected for a term of 5 years.

Applicants wishing to participate in the competition must personally (or through a representative) submit:

ა) An application and questionnaire prepared and signed in the appropriate form (forms will be published on the institute’s website), as well as documents confirming the information contained therein: diploma, certificate, attestation, certificate, statement, etc. (original and copy);

ბ) Document certifying scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

გ) Document(s) confirming scientific-research experience (verified by the seal of the respective organization/institution);

დ) A list of scientific and educational-methodical works, certified by the competent person of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit (if available);

ე) Identity card (original and copy);

ვ) 2 photographs 3X4;

ზ) Certificate of no criminal record for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability and certificate regarding the deprivation of rights. Note: persons who have already submitted these certificates to the university’s Human Capital Management Department are exempt from submitting them.

III. Competition Procedure

• The competition is held in accordance with the “Law on Higher Education” of Georgia, the university charter, and the “Regulations on the Admission of Scientific Staff to the Hydro-Meteorology Institute,” with which the applicant will familiarize themselves at the competition commission, the university, and the institute’s websites;

• The competition commission will take into account: the applicant’s qualifications and competence corresponding to the competition position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits; also (at the discretion of the commission) the results of the interview conducted with the applicant(s);

• The competition results may be appealed in court, according to the applicable legislation.
