The Scientific Council of the Hydro-Meteorological Institute of Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the following scientific position

• Department of Weather Forecasting, Natural and Technogenic Disaster Modeling: Senior Researcher – 2 (0.5 full-time equivalent)

• Department of Water Resources and Hydrological Forecasting: Senior Researcher – 1 (0.5 full-time equivalent)

Applications will be accepted from March 17, 2025, to March 19, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00, at: Tbilisi, David Agmashenebeli Avenue 150g, Hydro-Meteorological Institute, responsible person: Naili Kapanadze, Tel: 555 48 84 09, 032 295 10 47, 032 265 03 22.

The competition will take place on March 21, 2025. The preliminary results of the competition will be published no later than March 21, 2025, in a visible place by the competition commission and on the institute’s website.

Complaints regarding violations of the competition rules will be accepted by the competition commission until March 26, 2025. Additional information for applicants (application form, application, time and place of the interview) will be published on the institute’s website.

II. Competition Conditions

Main conditions of the competition:

The position of Senior Researcher may be held by a person who has a doctoral or equivalent academic degree; a Senior Researcher is selected for a term of 5 years.

Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:

ა) A properly completed and signed application and form (forms will be published on the institute’s website), along with supporting documents verifying the information contained therein: diploma, certificate, certificate of employment, letters, references, etc. (originals and copies);

ბ) Document verifying scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

გ) Document(s) verifying scientific-research experience (certified by the relevant organization/institution’s seal);

დ) List of scientific and teaching-methodological works, certified by the relevant institution/organization or the signature and seal of a competent person of its structural unit (if available);

ე) Identity document (original and copy);

ვ) 2 photographs, 3X4 cm;

ზ) Certificate of no criminal record for crimes against sexual freedom and integrity and certificate of deprivation of rights.

Note: Persons who have already submitted these certificates to the University’s Human Capital Management Department are exempt from submission.

III. Competition Procedure

• The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education,” the university charter, and the “Rules for Hiring Scientific Staff at the Hydro-Meteorological Institute,” which the applicant will review at the competition commission, university, and institute websites;

• The competition commission will consider: the applicant’s qualifications and competence relevant to the position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits appropriate to the profile of the position; also, the results of interviews conducted with the applicant(s) at the commission’s discretion;

• The results of the competition can be appealed in court in accordance with current legislation.
