Scientific Council of the “TALGA” Institute, Georgian Technical University, announces an open competition
The competition is announced for the position of Director of the Institute:
Applications will be accepted from December 6 to December 8, 2023, from 10:00 to 17:00 at the address: Zurab Anjaparidze St. N5 (former Sandro Euli St.), “TALGA” Institute, 6th floor, Room N622. Responsible person: Valerian Vachadze, Tel: +995 599 145 413.
The competition will be held on December 12, 2023. Preliminary results will be published no later than December 12, 2023, at a prominent place by the Scientific Council, and on the University and Institute websites: https://gtutalga.wordpress.com/ and https://gtu.ge/
Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the Scientific Council until December 15, 2023.
The Scientific Council of the TALGA Institute will submit the candidate elected for the position of Director to the Academic Council of Georgian Technical University for approval no later than December 31, 2023.
According to the University Charter, the Academic Council shall decide individually, by a qualified majority (2/3) and secret ballot, on the participation of persons aged 65 or older in administrative positions. Such persons must additionally submit the consent of the Academic Council to the Institute’s Scientific Council. For this purpose, the application must be submitted to the University Affairs Department from November 20 to November 22, 2023. The presence of the person at the Academic Council during the consideration of their case is mandatory; otherwise, the matter will not be considered.

II. Competition Conditions
Main conditions of the competition:
The position of Director of the Institute can be held by a person who has a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of scientific-research experience.
The Director of the Institute is elected for a term of 5 years.
The position of Director can be held consecutively by the same person for a maximum of two terms.
Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:
a) Properly completed and signed application (form will be published on the respective Institute website);
b) Document confirming a doctoral or equivalent academic degree (original and copy);
c) Documents confirming scientific-research experience (stages), certified by the respective organization/institution with a stamp;
d) List of scientific and teaching-methodological works, certified by the competent person of the respective institution/organization or its structural unit;
e) Action plan;
f) Identity document (original and copy);
g) Two photographs 3×4 cm;
h) Certificate of no criminal record for offenses against sexual freedom and integrity, and certificate of rights revocation.
Note: persons who have already submitted these certificates to the University Human Capital Management Department are exempt from submission.
III. Competition Procedure
The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education,” the University Charter, and the Regulations of the TALGA Institute, which the applicant will be familiarized with at the Scientific Council, University, and Institute websites.
The Scientific Council will take into account: the applicant’s qualifications and competence for the position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits; also, the results of interviews conducted with the applicant(s) (as determined by the Scientific Council).
The results of the competition may be appealed in court according to the applicable legislation.
