The Scientific Council of the Techinform Institute of Georgian Technical University announces an open competition
The competition is announced for the positions of Heads of Scientific Structural Units:
- Head of the Analysis and Information Resources Department;
- Head of the Information Technology Development Department

Interviews and voting for the vacant Head positions will be held on October 30, 2023. Results will be announced immediately after voting by the Scientific Council, posted at a prominent location in the Institute, and published on the Institute’s website: https://techinformi.ge/ge/
Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the Scientific Council until November 1, 2023.

II. Competition Conditions
Main conditions of the competition:
The position of Head of a Scientific Structural Unit may be held by a person who meets the requirements established for Chief or Senior Researcher of this independent scientific-research unit. If the person does not hold a Chief or Senior Researcher position, being elected as the Head of the Scientific Structural Unit will also be considered as holding the relevant scientific position.
a) Chief Researcher positions require a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of scientific-research experience;
b) Senior Researcher positions require a doctoral or equivalent academic degree;
Additionally, candidates must have at least 6 years of research experience in the field of scientific-technical information, including at least 2 years in the capacity of department, group, or project leader. Applicants must have published scientific works in leading local and international journals or international conference proceedings in their department’s scientific field within the last 5 years.
The Head of a Scientific Structural Unit will be elected for a term of 5 years.
Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:
a) Properly completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms published on the Institute’s website: https://techinformi.ge/ge/) along with supporting documents: diploma, certificate, license, reference, etc. (original and copy);
b) Document confirming academic/scientific degree (original and copy);
c) Documents confirming scientific-research experience, certified by the respective organization/institution with a stamp;
d) List of scientific and teaching-methodological works, certified by the competent person of the respective organization/institution (if available);
e) Identity document (original and copy);
f) Two photographs 3×4 cm;
g) Certificate of no criminal record for offenses against sexual freedom and integrity, and certificate of rights revocation.
Note: Persons who have already submitted these certificates to the University Human Capital Management Department are exempt from submission.
III. Competition Procedure
The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education,” the University Charter, and the “Rules for Hiring Scientific Personnel at the Techinform Institute,” which the applicant will be familiarized with at the Scientific Council, University, and Institute websites.
The Scientific Council will consider the applicant’s qualifications and competence for the position, including research, practical, and other relevant activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits; also, the results of interviews conducted with the applicant(s) (as determined by the Council).
The results of the competition may be appealed in court according to applicable legislation.
