The Scientific Council of the Tsotne Mirtskhulava Institute of Water Management of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for filling scientific positions:

Department of Natural Hazards and Environmental Protection:

• Chief Researcher – 1.0 staff unit

• Researcher – 1.0 staff unit

Applications will be accepted from April 22 to April 24, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the address: Tbilisi, Georgian Technical University, First Academic Building, 2nd Floor, №206, Tsotne Mirtskhulava Institute of Water Management, contact person: Marine Mgebrishvili, Tel: 579 08 95 79.

The competition will be held on April 28, 2025. The preliminary results of the competition will be published no later than April 28, 2025, at a prominent location by the competition commission and on the institute’s website.

Applications/complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the competition commission until May 1, 2025.

Additional information for participants (candidate form and application, time and place of the interview) will be published on the institute’s website.

II. Competition Conditions

Main conditions of the competition:

ა) The position of Chief Researcher can be held by a person who has a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of experience in scientific-research activity.

ბ) The position of Researcher can be held by a person who has a master’s or equivalent academic degree. The person is elected to the position of researcher (chief researcher, researcher) for a 5-year term.

Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:

ა) A duly completed and signed application and form (forms will be published on the institute’s website), along with documents confirming the information provided: diploma, certificate, attestation, certificate, reference, etc. (original and copy);

ბ) Document certifying the scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

გ) Documents confirming scientific-research experience (work/stage) certified by the stamp of the relevant organization/institution;

დ) List of scientific and educational-methodological works, certified by the signature and stamp of the relevant institution/organization or competent person of its structural unit (if available);

ე) Identity document (original and copy);

ვ) 2 photographs 3X4;

ზ) Certificate of no criminal record for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability and certificate of non-deprivation of rights. Note: Individuals who have already submitted these certificates to the university’s Human Capital Management Department are exempted from submission.

III. Competition Procedure

• The competition will be held in accordance with the Law of Georgia on “Higher Education,” the university charter, and the “Procedure for Admission of Scientific Staff to the Tsotne Mirtskhulava Institute of Water Management,” which the candidate can review at the competition commission, university, and institute websites;

• The competition commission will take into account: the candidate’s qualifications and competence relative to the position, including relevant scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits; also, based on the commission’s decision, the results of the interview(s) conducted with the candidate(s);

• The results of the competition can be appealed in court in accordance with current legislation.
