The Scientific Council of the Vladimir Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the following scientific position: Department of Optics and Spectroscopy:

  • Chief Scientific Researcher – 1.0 full-time position

Applications will be accepted from April 28, 2025, to April 30, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the address: Tbilisi, Zurab Anjafaridze First Lane №6 (former Sandro Euli Street), Vladimir Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics, first floor, room №130, contact person: Giorgi Mumladze, Tel.: 598 42 98 33.

The competition will take place on May 2, 2025. The preliminary results of the competition will be published no later than May 2, 2025, in a visible location by the competition commission and on the institute’s website.

Applications/complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the competition commission until May 7, 2025. Additional information for participants (competitor’s form and application, competition time and place) will be published on the institute’s website.

II. Competition Conditions

The main conditions of the competition:

a) The position of Chief Scientific Researcher can be held by a person who has a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of scientific-research experience.

The Chief Scientific Researcher is elected for a term of 5 years.

Applicants wishing to participate must personally (or through a representative) submit:

a) A properly completed and signed application and form (forms will be published on the institute’s website), as well as supporting documentation for the information provided therein: diploma, certificate, proof, decree, reference, etc. (original and copy);

b) Document certifying scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

c) Document(s) certifying scientific-research experience (stazh), certified by the relevant organization/institution stamp;

d) List of scientific and educational-methodical works, certified by the relevant organization/institution or its structural unit’s competent person with signature and stamp (if available);

e) Identity card (original and copy);
f) 2 photographs 3X4;
g) Certificate of no criminal record for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability and certificate of deprivation of rights.
Note: Persons who have already submitted these certificates to the university’s Human Capital Management Department are exempt from submitting them.

III. Competition Procedure

  • The competition is held in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education,” the university’s charter, and the “Rules for Hiring Scientific Personnel at the Vladimir Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics,” which the applicant reviews at the competition commission, university, and institute websites.
  • The competition commission will consider: the applicant’s qualifications and competence relative to the competition position, including relevant scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merit; also, based on the commission’s decision, results of interviews conducted with the applicant(s).
  • Appeals against competition results can be filed in court, in accordance with applicable law.
