Open Competition Announcement for Scientific Positions
The Ir. Zhordania Center for the Study of Productive Forces and Natural Resources of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the following scientific position:
Department of Land, Water, and Forest Resources:
- Senior Research Fellow – 0.5 full-time equivalent (FTE)

Competition date: April 29, 2026. Preliminary results will be published no later than April 29, 2026, in a visible location designated by the competition commission and on the institute’s website.
Complaints regarding violations of competition procedures will be accepted by the competition commission until May 4, 2026 (inclusive).
Additional information for applicants (application form, questionnaire, interview time and place) will be published on the institute’s website.
II. Competition Requirements
Main condition:
a) A candidate for the position of Senior Research Fellow must hold a doctoral degree or an equivalent academic qualification. The position is awarded for a term of 5 years.
Applicants must submit personally (or through a representative):
a) A properly completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms will be published on the institute’s website), along with supporting documentation confirming the provided information: diploma, certificates, attestations, awards, references, etc. (original and copy);
b) Document confirming academic/scientific degree (original and copy);
c) Document(s) confirming scientific/research experience (length of service), certified by the relevant organization/institution;
d) List of scientific and teaching-methodological publications, certified by the competent authority of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit (if applicable);
e) ID card (original and copy);
f) Two 3×4 photographs (also in digital format on CD);
g) Certificate of no conviction for crimes against sexual freedom and integrity, and certificate regarding deprivation of rights.
Note: Submission of the above certificates is not required if they have already been provided to the university’s Human Resources and Records Management Office.
III. Competition Procedure
The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education,” the university statute, and the “Rules for Hiring Scientific Personnel of the Institute of Hydrometeorology.” Applicants may ознакомиться these documents at the competition commission, as well as on the university and institute websites.
The competition commission will evaluate:
- The candidate’s qualifications and competence in relation to the position;
- Relevant scientific-research, practical, and other activities;
- Achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits;
- Interview results (if conducted, by decision of the commission).
Competition results may be appealed in court in accordance with applicable legislation.
