An open competition has been announced for filling scientific positions
The Scientific Council of the Vladimir Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the following heads of structural units and scientific positions:
- Department of Mathematical Cybernetics: Chief Research Fellow – 1.0 staff unit
- Department of Stochastic Analysis and Mathematical Modeling: Senior Research Fellow – 1.0 staff unit, Research Fellow – 1.0 staff unit
- Nanocomposites Laboratory: Head of Laboratory / Chief Research Fellow – 1.0 staff unit, Research Fellow – 1.0 staff unit
Applications will be accepted from October 13 to October 16, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the address: Tbilisi, 6 Zurab Anjaparidze 1st Lane (former Sandro Euli St.), Vladimir Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics, 1st floor, room №130, contact person: Giorgi Mumladze, Tel.: 598 42 98 33.
Interviews and elections for the vacant positions of heads of structural units will be held by the Scientific Council on October 20, 2025. The results of the election will be announced immediately after completion on October 20 and will be posted in a prominent place at the institute and published on the institute’s website.
Competitions for the vacant positions of Chief Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, and Research Fellow will be held by the Competition Commission on October 21, 2025. Preliminary results will be published no later than October 21, 2025, in a prominent place by the Competition Commission and on the institute’s website.
Statements/complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the Scientific Council/Competition Commission until October 24, 2025. Additional information for applicants (application form and questionnaire, time and place of the competition) will be published on the institute’s website.

### II. Competition Conditions
**Main conditions of the competition:**
a) The position of head of a scientific structural unit (Laboratory Head) may be held by a person who meets the requirements established for Chief Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow of the independent scientific-research unit. If a person does not currently hold a Chief or Senior Research Fellow position, being elected as the head of the scientific structural unit is also considered equivalent to being elected to the corresponding scientific position.
b) The position of Chief Research Fellow may be held by a person with a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of scientific-research experience.
c) The position of Senior Research Fellow may be held by a person with a doctoral or equivalent academic degree.
d) The position of Research Fellow may be held by a person with a Master’s or equivalent academic degree.
All persons elected to the above positions of heads of structural units/scientific positions will serve a term of 5 years.

Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:
a) Properly completed and signed application form and questionnaire (forms published on the institute’s website), along with supporting documentation: diploma, certificate, attestation, certificate, notice, etc. (original and copy);
b) Document confirming scientific/academic degree (original and copy);
c) Documents confirming scientific-research experience (stages), certified by the stamp of the relevant organization/institution;
d) List of scientific and teaching-methodological works, certified by the competent person of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit, with signature and stamp (if available);
e) Identity card (original and photocopy);
f) 2 photographs 3X4;
g) Certificate of no criminal record for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability and certificate regarding deprivation of rights.
**Note:** Persons who have already submitted these certificates to the university’s Human Resources Management and Administrative Services are exempt from submitting them again.

### III. Competition Procedure
- The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education,” university regulations, and the “Regulations on the Admission of Scientific Staff to the Vladimir Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics,” which the applicant will familiarize with at the Scientific Council/Competition Commission and on the university and institute websites;
- The Scientific Council/Competition Commission will consider: the applicant’s qualifications and competencies corresponding to the competitive position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits relevant to the position; also, if decided by the Scientific Council/Competition Commission, the results of the interview conducted with the applicant(s);
- The results of the competition may be appealed in court in accordance with applicable legislation.
