Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Grant Funding Competition for Doctoral Educational Programs

The Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation announces a competition for grant funding for doctoral educational programs.

Projects can be submitted to the competition for doctoral educational programs in the following areas of the scientific direction classifier:

1. Natural Sciences

2. Engineering and Technology

3. Medical and Health Sciences

4. Agricultural Sciences

5. Social Sciences

6. Humanities

7. Sciences studying Georgia

Only individual educational and research grants will be awarded within the framework of the competition.

A citizen of Georgia who is enrolled in a doctoral educational program at a Georgian higher education institution in accordance with the rules established by Georgian legislation has the right to participate in the grant competition.

A doctoral candidate who is the winner of the same grant competition in 2013 and 2014 is not eligible to participate in the competition.

The material and technical base of a higher educational institution, a scientific-research institute, as well as other legal/individual entities may be used to implement the project.

The implementation of the winning project should begin in October 2016.

The duration of the project submitted for the competition must be a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 36 months. The number of months must be a multiple of 6 and correspond to 6-month reporting periods.

The funding requested from the Fund for one grant project should not exceed 21,000 GEL per year.

Competition schedule:

• July 7, 2016 – Announcement of the competition;

• July 18, 2016 – Opening of the electronic registration database of projects and posting of instructions for electronic registration of projects in the database;

• July 20, 4:00 PM – Group Consultation – Registration Form

• July 26, 4:00 PM – Group Consultation – Registration Form;

• August 1, 2016 – Deadline for submitting inquiries to the Foundation;

• August 8, 2016 23:00 – Deadline for project registration in the electronic database;

• August 10, 2016 4:00 PM – Deadline for registration of applications at the Foundation’s Chancellery.

Competition documents submitted in violation of the deadline and competition conditions (format, rules, etc.) will not be considered for the competition.
