Georgian Technical University Announces an Open Competition for Scientific Positions in Independent Research Units
Georgian Technical University (hereinafter “the University”) announces an open competition for a 5-year term for scientific positions in the following independent research units: Department Head, Chief Scientific Officer, Senior Scientific Officer, and Scientific Officer:

I. Application Submission and Competition Dates
- Additional information for applicants (number of positions per research unit, application form, questionnaire, etc.) will be published on the University website (www.gtu.ge) and on the respective research unit websites. Applications will be accepted from July 20–22, 2020, 10:00–17:00 at the addresses listed above.
- The competition will take place on July 27–28, 2020. Preliminary results will be published no later than July 28, 2020, at the respective commission offices and on the University website: www.gtu.ge.
- Complaints regarding violations of competition rules will be accepted until July 31, 2020, by the competition commission.
II. Qualification Requirements
- Main conditions:
- Chief Scientific Officer: Doctoral degree or equivalent; at least 6 years of scientific-research experience.
- Senior Scientific Officer: Doctoral degree or equivalent.
- Scientific Officer: Master’s degree or equivalent.
- Applicants must submit, in person or via representative:
- Completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms available on GTU website), along with supporting documentation (diplomas, certificates, attestations, references, etc., original and copy);
- Document confirming academic/scientific degree (original and copy);
- Proof of scientific-research experience (certified by the relevant organization/department stamp);
- List of scientific and educational-methodical works (certified by relevant organization or its competent representative);
- Identity document (original and copy);
- Two photographs (3×4 cm).
III. Competition Procedure
- The competition will be conducted according to the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education,” the University Charter, and the “Rules for Recruitment of Scientific Personnel” of the respective research unit, which applicants can review on commission premises and the University website.
- The competition commission will consider the applicant’s qualifications and competence in relation to the position, including research, practical, and other relevant activities, achievements, experience, and merits; as well as interview results conducted by the commission.
- Competition results may be appealed in court according to applicable legislation.
