The Scientific Council of the G.T.U. Biotechnology Center announces a competition for filling a scientific position

The Scientific Council of the Biotechnology Center of the Georgian Technical University Announces an Open Competition for the Following Scientific Position:

Position: Chief Scientific Officer – (1 staff unit)

Scientific Field: Biodiversity, phytogenetic resource monitoring, conservation, cultivation, and utilization technologies.

Submission of Applications: From December 12 to December 16, 2024, between 10:00 and 17:00, at the following address:

Competition Date: December 18, 2024.
The preliminary results will be published no later than December 18, 2024, in a visible location determined by the Competition Commission and on the Center’s website.

Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedures will be accepted by the Competition Commission until December 23, 2024.

II. Competition Conditions

Key Requirements:

The position of Chief Scientific Officer may be held by a person who holds a Doctoral degree (or equivalent) and has at least 6 years of research experience.

Appointment to the position is for a term of 5 years.

Applicants must personally (or via a representative) submit:

• A properly completed and signed **application and questionnaire** (forms available on the Center’s website), along with supporting documentation (diploma, certificate, attestation, license, reference, etc., originals and copies).
• **Proof of scientific/academic degree** (original and copy).
• **Evidence of research experience (tenure)** certified by the relevant organization/institution with an official stamp.
• A **list of scientific and educational-methodological publications**, certified by the relevant institution/organization or a competent authority within its structure (if applicable).
• **Identity document** (original and photocopy).
• **Two photographs** (3×4 cm).
• **Certificates of no criminal record** for offenses against sexual freedom and inviolability, and certificates regarding deprivation of rights.

Note: Applicants who have already submitted these certificates to the University’s Human Capital Management Department are exempted from resubmission.

III. Competition Procedure

• The competition will be conducted in accordance with the **Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”**, the **University Statute**, and the **Rules for Recruitment of Scientific Personnel at the Biotechnology Center**, which applicants can review at the Competition Commission office, and on the University and Center websites.
• The Competition Commission will evaluate the applicant’s **qualification and competence** for the position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits relevant to the position, as well as interview results (if conducted, at the discretion of the Commission).
• Competition results may be appealed in court in accordance with current legislation.
