The Scientific Council of the GTU Hydrometeorology Institute announces a competition

The Scientific Council of the Hydrometeorology Institute of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the following scientific position:

• Department of Monitoring and Forecasting Environmental Pollution: Senior Researcher – 1 full-time position

Applications will be accepted from October 6 to October 8, 2025, between 10:00 and 17:00, at the address: Tbilisi, 150G David Agmashenebeli Avenue, Hydrometeorology Institute. Responsible person: Naili Kapanadze, Tel: 555 48 84 09, 032 295 10 47, 032 265 03 22.

The competition will take place on October 10, 2025. The preliminary results of the competition will be published no later than October 10, 2025, at a visible location in the institute and on the institute’s website.

Applications/complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the competition commission until October 16, 2025. Additional information for applicants (application form, interview time and place) will be published on the institute’s website.

II. Competition Conditions

Main conditions of the competition:

a) The position of Senior Researcher can be held by a person with a doctoral or equivalent academic degree.
b) The term for the Senior Researcher position is 5 years.

Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:

1. A properly completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms will be published on the institute’s website), along with supporting documents verifying the information provided: diploma, certificate, official confirmation, reference letters, etc. (original and copy);
2. Document verifying scientific/academic degree (original and copy);
3. Documents verifying scientific-research experience (original and/or certified copies with official stamp);
4. List of scientific and educational-methodological works, certified by the relevant organization/unit or a competent official (if available);
5. Identity document (original and copy);
6. Two photographs (3×4);
7. Certificate of no criminal record for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability, and certificate regarding any deprivation of rights.

Note: Applicants who have already submitted these certificates to the university’s Human Resources and Administrative Services are exempted from resubmission.

III. Competition Procedure

• The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, the university regulations, and the “Rules for Hiring Scientific Staff at the Hydrometeorology Institute,” which applicants will review in the competition commission, and on the university and institute websites;

• The competition commission will consider the applicant’s qualifications and competence for the position, including relevant scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits; also (at the commission’s discretion) the results of the interview(s) conducted with the applicant(s);

• Appeals against the competition results can be submitted to the court in accordance with applicable legislation.
