The Scientific Council of the I. Jordania Georgian Center for Industrial Forces and Natural Resources at Georgian Technical University announces an open competition

The Scientific Council of the I. Jordania Georgian Center for Industrial Forces and Natural Resources at Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for filling the following scientific position:

Department of Land, Water, and Forest Resources:

Chief Researcher – (0.5 staff position).

• Applications will be accepted from December 5, 2024, to December 11, 2024, between 10:00 and 17:00, at the following address: Tbilisi, M. Kostava Street N67, GTU 10th Academic Building, 5th Floor, Room N503, I. Jordania Georgian Center for Industrial Forces and Natural Resources. Contact person: R. Firtskhalava, Tel: 599 46 93 07.

• The competition will be held on December 11, 2024. Preliminary results will be published no later than December 11, 2024, in a prominent place by the competition commission and on the center’s website.

• Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the competition commission until December 16, 2024.

• Additional information for applicants (application form, statement, interview time and place) will be published on the center’s website.

II. Competition Conditions

Main conditions of the competition:

• The position of Chief Researcher can be held by a person with a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of research experience;

• The Chief Researcher of the department is elected for a term of 5 years.

• Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:

a) A properly completed and signed application and form (forms will be published on the center’s website), along with supporting documentation: diploma, certificate, proof, award, letter, etc. (original and copy);

b) Proof of scientific/academic qualification (original and copy);

c) Documents confirming research experience (stages), certified by the appropriate organization/institution with a seal;

d) A list of scientific and teaching-methodological works, certified by the relevant institution/organization or the competent person of its structural unit with signature and seal (if applicable);

e) Identification document (original and copy);

f) Two photographs 3X4;

g) Certificate of no criminal record regarding sexual freedom and integrity violations, and information on any revoked rights.

Note: Persons who have already submitted these documents to the University’s Human Capital Management Department are exempt from providing them again.

III. Competition Procedure

• The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, the university regulations, and the “Procedure for Recruitment of Scientific Personnel of the I. Jordania Georgian Center for Industrial Forces and Natural Resources,” which the candidate will be familiarized with at the competition commission, university, and center websites;

• The competition commission will take into account: the candidate’s qualifications and competence relevant to the competition position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits corresponding to the competition position; as well as (at the discretion of the commission) the results of interviews conducted with the candidate(s);

• The results of the competition may be appealed in court in accordance with current legislation.
