The Scientific Council of the Membrane Technology Engineering Institute, Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the following scientific positions:

Department of Nanocomposite Materials Processing

Position: Senior Researcher – 0.5 staff unit

Physical-Chemical Analysis Laboratory

Position: Researcher – 0.5 staff unit

Submission of Applications: From August 12 to August 14, 2024, between 10:00 and 17:00, at:
Tbilisi, Vashlijvari, 1 II lane V. Topuridze, Membrane Technology Engineering Institute.

The competition will take place on August 16, 2024.

Preliminary results will be announced no later than August 16, 2024, in a visible location by the Competition Commission and published on the University website: https://gtu.ge/

Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the Competition Commission until August 21, 2024.

II. Competition Conditions

Key Requirements:

Senior Researcher: Must hold a Doctoral degree or equivalent, with at least 6 years of research experience.

Researcher: Must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

a) Senior Researcher:

The candidate must have knowledge of:

Problems and directions of research development in membrane technologies;

Local and international achievements in relevant scientific fields (membrane technologies);

Modern methods and tools for organizing and conducting research in membrane technologies.

In the last 5 years, the candidate must have:

Special achievements: participation in the implementation, modernization, or commercialization of research results (membrane technologies);

Published at least 20 scientific papers, articles, or monographs in local journals (membrane technologies);

Participation in at least 3 international or local scientific conferences on membrane technology topics.

b) Researcher:

The candidate must have knowledge of:

Current research studies in Georgia and abroad in the field of membrane technologies;

Modern methods and tools for organizing research in the field of membrane technologies.

In the last 5 years, the candidate must have:

Published at least 15 scientific papers in leading local and international journals (membrane technologies);

Participation in at least 3 international or local scientific conferences on membrane technology topics.

Term of Office: Both Senior Researcher and Researcher positions are appointed for 5 years.

Applicants must personally (or via a representative) submit:

  • Properly completed and signed **application and questionnaire** (forms available on the University website: https://gtu.ge/), including supporting documentation: diploma, certificate, attestation, license, reference, etc. (originals and copies).
  • **Proof of scientific/academic degree** (original and copy).
  • **Documentation certifying research experience (tenure)**, certified by the relevant organization/institution with official stamp.
  • **List of scientific and educational-methodological publications**, certified by the relevant institution/organization or competent authority within its structure (if applicable).
  • **Identity document** (original and photocopy).
  • Two **photographs** (3×4 cm).
  • **Certificate of no criminal record** for offenses against sexual freedom and inviolability, and certificate regarding deprivation of rights.

Note: Applicants who have already submitted these certificates to the University’s Human Capital Management Department are exempted from resubmission.

III. Competition Procedure

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”, the University Statute, and the Rules for Recruitment of Scientific Personnel at the Membrane Technology Engineering Institute, which applicants can review at the Competition Commission office and on the University website.

The Competition Commission will evaluate applicants based on qualifications and competence, including research, practical, and other activities, achievements, experience, and merits, as well as interview results (at the Commission’s discretion).

Results of the competition may be appealed in court in accordance with current legislation.
