According to Article 29 of the Law of Georgia on “Higher Education,” Article 21 of the University Charter approved by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia’s Order №133/n of September 9, 2013, Article 2, Paragraph 9, and Articles 24, 25, and 26 of the “Regulations on the Conduct of Elections of the Governing Bodies (Management Entities) of Georgian Technical University and its Faculties,” and based on the decision of the Faculty of Energy Council at its meeting on December 3, 2024 (meeting minutes №8):

1. Elections for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Energy shall be scheduled for February 3, 2025.

2. The Faculty Dean shall be elected by the Faculty Council for a term of 4 years. The same person may hold the position of Dean consecutively no more than twice.

3. The position of Faculty Dean may be held by a person who meets the following requirement: is a professor or associate professor of the faculty.

4. Candidates must submit their application and accompanying documents from January 13, 2025, to January 27, 2025, to the Faculty Election Commission – Tbilisi, 75 Kostava St., 3rd floor, room №314. Applications are accepted from 10:00 to 17:00, excluding weekends and holidays.

5. The application must include:
ა) A copy of a personal identification document (ID card, passport);
ბ) A certificate confirming the academic position held at the Faculty of Energy of the Technical University;
გ) An action plan.

6. Public presentation of the candidates’ action plans to the Faculty of Energy Council shall be scheduled for January 30, 2025.

7. The Academic Council, by a qualified majority of votes (2/3), through a secret ballot, individually decides on the participation of a person aged 65 or older in the competition for an administrative position. Such a person must additionally submit the Academic Council’s approval to the Faculty Election Commission. Interested persons must apply to the Academic Council by December 28, 2024, through the University Administration Department (address: 77 Kostava St., Administrative Building, 2nd floor).

Presence of the person in the Academic Council during the review of their case is mandatory; otherwise, the matter will not be considered.

8. The elections shall be conducted in accordance with the University-wide regulations on the “Conduct of Elections of the Governing Bodies (Management Entities) of Georgian Technical University and its Faculties.”
