CERN/IPPOG International Masterclass

Organized by the Nuclear Engineering Center of the Georgian Technical University and supported financially by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the CERN/IPPOG International Masterclass series has begun across Georgia.

The aim of the masterclass is to promote science, innovation, and modern technologies among young people, as well as to introduce school students to ongoing international scientific experiments in the fields of particle physics and nuclear research.

According to the head of the GTU Nuclear Engineering Center, the first event within the CERN/IPPOG International Masterclass series was held at Kutaisi International University (KIU), where 34 students from seven public schools participated. Professor Besik Kekelia noted that the students attended thematic lectures on particle physics, detector technologies, and high-energy physics experiments, and also took part in practical activities and data analysis work.
