Competition for Doctoral Students and Early-Career Professors within the Framework of the Joint Project between TSU and the University of Texas

A competition is announced for doctoral students and early-career professors at accredited public research universities in Georgia (who have defended their PhD dissertation no earlier than January 1, 2020), within the framework of the joint project of TSU and the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas). The training program aims to develop research skills and professional networks.

The deadline for submitting applications is January 30, 2026, at 23:59 (Tbilisi time). Interviews with applicants will take place in early March 2026. Selected candidates will travel to Dallas from late May 2026 and remain at the University of Texas at Dallas for 8 weeks.

The program will begin with a two-week intensive training in English and continue with training in academic and grant proposal writing, dissertation preparation, presenting research to the academic community, and more.

Two months before departure, selected candidates must attend virtual orientation sessions. The program budget covers round-trip international travel, accommodation and meals, a public transportation card in Dallas, and a daily allowance.

The program is funded by the U.S. Embassy in Georgia and the U.S. Department of State.
