Occupational safety is a promising and in-demand profession. Across Georgia, qualified specialists are trained through higher education academic programs only at the Georgian Technical University, Faculty of Mining and Geology, Department No. 304 of Occupational Safety and Emergency Management. The goal of the existing educational programs is to prepare qualified specialists in accordance with labor market demands, ensure safe organization and planning of workplaces, improve working conditions, identify hazards arising in the work process, and manage risks.
The department has teaching laboratories equipped with the necessary tools and equipment, apparatus required for the implementation of scientific research projects, classrooms equipped with modern projection systems and computer technology, and the Firefighting Equipment Cabinet named after Professor Vakhtang Kashibadze.
The Firefighting Equipment Cabinet features automatic fire extinguishing system stands, as well as the apparatus necessary for carrying out research projects, and is equipped with modern projection and computer technologies.
