Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for scientific positions at the Institute of Quantum Physics and Engineering Technologies

The Institute of Quantum Physics and Engineering Technologies at GTU announces an open competition for the following vacant scientific positions for a 5-year term:

• Senior Scientific Researcher – 2 positions
• Scientific Researcher – 2 positions

I. Application Submission and Competition Schedule

1. Additional information for applicants (including rules for hiring scientific personnel, Hiring Rules, Application Form, Applicant Questionnaire) will be published on the GTU website www.gtu.ge. Applications will be accepted on June 10–11, 2019, from 10:00 to 17:00 at Tbilisi, M. Kostava Street #77, 9th Academic Building, Room 413. Contact person: Yuri Baghaturia, Tel.: 593 78 11 42;
2. The competition will be held on June 14, 2019. Preliminary results will be published no later than June 17, 2019, by the respective competition commission at a visible location and on the GTU website www.gtu.ge.
3. Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure may be submitted to the competition commission by June 19, 2019.

II. Competition Requirements

1. Main requirements:
   • Senior Scientific Researcher – candidates must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent.
   • Scientific Researcher – candidates must hold a master’s degree or equivalent.
2. Applicants must submit personally (or via a representative):
   1. Completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms available on GTU website) along with supporting documents: diploma, certificate, license, reference, etc. (originals and copies);
   2. Document confirming academic/scientific degree (original and copy);
   3. Document(s) confirming scientific/research experience (certified by the relevant organization/institution);
   4. List of scientific publications, certified by the relevant organization or competent authority;
   5. Identification card (original and copy);
   6. Two photos, 3×4 cm.

III. Competition Procedure

1. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, the University Statute, and the Rules for Hiring Scientific Personnel of the Institute, which applicants will review on the Institute’s website.
2. The competition commission will consider the candidate’s qualifications and competence in relation to the position, including scientific, research, practical, and other relevant achievements and experience, as well as interview results (at the commission’s discretion).
3. Competition results can be appealed in court according to the current legislation.
