The Scientific Council of the Archil Eliashvili Institute of Control Systems of Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for the following scientific positions

• Department of Language Modeling: Research Associate – 1.0 full-time equivalent

• Department of Energy Systems Structure and Energy Equipment Optimization named after Vakhtang Gomelauri: Senior Research Associate – 0.5 full-time equivalent

• Department of Systems Identification and Optimal Control named after Mindia Salukvadze: Research Associate – 2 (0.5 full-time equivalent)

Applications will be accepted from February 17 to February 19, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00, at the address: Tbilisi, Mindeli St. N10, Archil Eliashvili Institute of Control Systems, 4th floor, room N1, responsible person: Ketevan Kvirikashvili, phone: 032 231 98 74.

The competition will be held on February 21, 2025. The preliminary results of the competition will be published no later than February 21, 2025, in a prominent place by the competition commission and on the institute’s website.

Applications/complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the competition commission until February 26, 2025.

II. Competition Conditions

Main conditions of the competition:

a) The position of Senior Research Associate can be held by a person who has a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and at least 6 years of research experience. The Senior Research Associate must be familiar with the problems and directions of scientific research development; local and international achievements in relevant scientific fields; organization and implementation of scientific research using modern methods and tools. In the last 10 years, they must have published at least 10 scientific works (monograph and/or article in a scientific journal and/or proceedings of local and international scientific conferences), of which at least 3 should be in the scientific field of the department where the applicant intends to apply; in internationally peer-reviewed publications and/or international conference proceedings.

b) The position of Research Associate can be held by a person who has a master’s or equivalent academic degree. The Research Associate must be familiar with the objectives and tasks of ongoing research projects; similar scientific studies in Georgia and abroad; modern methods for processing, generalizing information, and organizing research. They must have published at least one scientific work.

The position of researcher (Senior Research Associate, Research Associate) is appointed for a term of 5 years.

Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:

a) A properly completed and signed application and form (forms will be published on the institute’s website), along with supporting documentation verifying the information provided: diploma, certificate, certificate of service, reference letter, notice, etc. (original and copy);

b) Document confirming scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

c) Documents confirming research experience (original and copy), certified by the relevant organization/institution’s stamp;

d) List of scientific and teaching-methodical works, certified by the relevant institution/organization or competent person of its structural unit with signature and stamp (if available);

e) Identity document (original and copy);

f) 2 photos 3X4;

g) Certificate of no criminal record for offenses against sexual freedom and inviolability and certificate regarding deprivation of rights.

Note: Submission of certificates is waived for persons who have already submitted these documents to the university’s Human Capital Management Department.

III. Competition Procedure

• The competition is conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”, the university charter, and the “Regulations for Hiring Scientific Staff at the Archil Eliashvili Institute of Control Systems”, which the applicant can review at the competition commission, and on the university and institute websites;

• The competition commission will consider: the applicant’s qualifications and competence in relation to the position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities relevant to the position, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits; also, if decided by the commission, the results of the interview(s) conducted with the applicant(s);

• Competition results can be appealed in court, according to the applicable legislation.
