The competition is announced for filling the following scientific position:

· Department of Computational Methods:

Researcher – (1.0 staff position)

Applications will be accepted from February 12, 2024, to February 14, 2024, between 11:00 and 15:00, at the following address: Tbilisi, Gr. Peradze Street N4, Niko Muskhelishvili Institute of Computational Mathematics, Room N201. Contact person: Nino Bokuchava, Tel: 595 65 80 27.

The competition will be held on February 16, 2024. Preliminary results of the competition will be published no later than February 16, 2024, in a prominent place by the competition commission and on the institute’s website:
https://micm.edu.ge/.

Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the competition commission until February 21, 2024.

II. Competition Conditions

Main conditions of the competition:

The position of Researcher may be held by a person who has a master’s or equivalent academic degree. In addition, the candidate must have scientific publications published or accepted for publication within the last 5 years, including at least two in journals indexed in Scopus (this requirement does not apply to a person who is participating for the first time in a competition announced for the position of Researcher).

A person is elected to the position of Researcher for a term of 5 years.

Applicants wishing to participate in the competition must personally (or through a representative) submit:

a) A properly completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms will be published on the institute’s website
https://micm.edu.ge/), along with documentation confirming the information provided: diploma, certificate, testimonial, award, reference, etc. (original and copy);

b) A document confirming scientific/academic qualification (original and copy);

c) Document(s) confirming scientific research experience (length of service), certified by the relevant organization/institution with a seal;

d) A list of scientific and teaching-methodological works, certified by the relevant institution/organization or by a competent person of its structural unit with signature and seal. Journals with an impact factor (Web of Science) must be marked with the abbreviation “IF”, while journals indexed in Scopus must be marked with the abbreviation “SJR”;

e) Identification document (original and photocopy);

f) Two photographs 3×4;

g) Certificate of no criminal record for crimes against sexual freedom and integrity and a certificate regarding deprivation of rights.

Note: A person who has already submitted these certificates to the University’s Human Capital Management Department is exempt from submitting them again.

III. Competition Procedure

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, the university regulations, and the “Procedure for Recruitment of Scientific Personnel of the Niko Muskhelishvili Institute of Computational Mathematics,” with which the candidate will become familiar at the competition commission and on the university and institute websites.

The competition commission will take into account the candidate’s qualifications and competence relevant to the competition position, including scientific research, practical and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits corresponding to the profile of the competition position; as well as (by decision of the commission) the results of interviews conducted with the candidate(s).

The results of the competition may be appealed in court in accordance with current legislation.
