The Scientific Council of the Tsotne Mirkhvulava Institute of Water Management, Georgian Technical University, announces an open competition

The competition is announced for the following scientific positions:

· Department of Natural Hazards and Environmental Protection:
Senior Researcher – 1.0 full-time equivalent

· Department of Seas and Reservoirs:
Researcher – 1.0 full-time equivalent

Applications will be accepted from November 13 to November 15, 2023, from 10:00 to 17:00 at the address: Tbilisi, I. Chavchavadze Ave. N60B, 2nd floor, Room N232, Tsotne Mirkhvulava Institute of Water Management. Contact person: Marine Mgebreshvili, Tel: +995 579 08 95 79.

The competition will be held on November 17, 2023. Preliminary results will be published no later than November 17, 2023, at a prominent place by the Competition Commission and on the Institute website: http://www.wmi.ge/index.htm

Complaints regarding violations of the competition procedure will be accepted by the Competition Commission until November 22, 2023.

II. Competition Conditions

Main conditions of the competition:

a) The position of Senior Researcher can be held by a person with a doctoral or equivalent academic degree;

b) The position of Researcher can be held by a person with a Master’s or equivalent academic degree.

The term of office for Researcher positions (Senior Researcher, Researcher) is 5 years.

Applicants must personally (or through a representative) submit:

a) Properly completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms published on the Institute website: http://www.wmi.ge/index.htm), along with supporting documents such as diploma, certificate, license, reference, etc. (original and copy);

b) Document confirming scientific/academic degree (original and copy);

c) Documents confirming scientific-research experience (stages), certified by the respective organization/institution with a stamp;

d) List of scientific and teaching-methodological works, certified by the competent person of the respective organization/institution or its structural unit (if available);

e) Identity document (original and copy);

f) Two photographs 3×4 cm;

g) Certificate of no criminal record for offenses against sexual freedom and integrity, and certificate of rights revocation.

Note: persons who have already submitted these certificates to the University Human Capital Management Department are exempt from submission.

III. Competition Procedure

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education,” the University Charter, and the “Rules for Hiring Scientific Personnel at the Tsotne Mirkhvulava Institute of Water Management,” which the applicant will be familiarized with at the Competition Commission, University, and Institute websites.

The Competition Commission will consider the applicant’s qualifications and competence for the position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits; also, the results of interviews conducted with the applicant(s) (as determined by the Commission).

The results of the competition may be appealed in court according to the applicable legislation.
