Why GTU?

Today, GTU has 11 faculties, 15 scientific research institutes, and 1 center, offering prospective students a diverse range of faculties in both engineering and humanities fields.

Vocational education

Alongside their studies, GTU students participate in various sports and cultural activities. The university successfully hosts teams in rugby, football, judo, Georgian wrestling, billiards, chess, sambo, bowling, volleyball, snow and beach volleyball, as well as a basketball team. GTU has won numerous prestigious awards in these sports, both in Georgia and internationally.

GTU is also renowned for its cultural ensembles, including the “Modi Nakhe” Student Folk Theatre, the Male Choir, the GP Jazz Orchestra, the “Merani” Choreographic Ensemble, the Student Girls’ Ensemble “Qaldea,” and other musical groups.

Employment

From their first year, students have the opportunity to undertake internships—often paid—at partner organizations, gain practical experience, and deepen their professional knowledge.

Accessibility to education

  • GTU offers 36 fully state-funded programs.
  • Students have the opportunity to benefit from all privileges provided by the state program for socially disadvantaged individuals, children of war veterans, internally displaced persons, and residents affected in villages near the administrative boundary line.
  • A GTU student who is not eligible for a state grant can pay the tuition fee according to an individual schedule. In this case, the student must submit a request to the faculty manager.
  • The university awards named scholarships to outstanding students.

Exchange programs

GTU has close cooperation with 68 universities in 17 European countries, where students can participate in mobility programs under Erasmus+ with corresponding funding. These countries include Italy, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Poland, France, Portugal, Sweden, Greece, and others.
