Taking Out Book
To borrow a book and use the library’s services, please contact the librarian in person and receive detailed information about the desired literature, specifically:
- Whether the book you are interested in is available in our library;
- Whether you can borrow the book;
- For how many days you can borrow the book;
- Where and when you can pick up the book;
- Whether you can place an order electronically.
To order a book electronically, please fill out the following form.
- When ordering a book in electronic format, it is recommended to specify the book’s author and title accurately;
- If you do not know the author’s surname or the book title, you can identify the required literature using the library’s electronic catalog;
- No later than one working day after placing the order, you will receive information about the book’s availability by email;
A reserved book will be held for the reader for 2 days
Whether each library item can be borrowed depends on its category, quantity, and frequency of demand.
The following items cannot be borrowed from the library:
- Books of which there is only one copy in the library
- Periodicals (journals, newspapers)
- Rare items (rare editions, old books)
- Dictionaries
- Encyclopedias
- Maps
- Dissertations
The borrowing period for a book depends on its category, quantity in the library, and frequency of demand:
- Fiction: For use on-site only
- Textbooks (if the library has a sufficient number of copies): One semester
- Textbooks (if the library does not have a sufficient number of copies): For use within the library only
Information about the issue and return dates of a library item constitutes an official notification. The reader is required to return borrowed materials to the library within the specified period.
The reader may extend the borrowing period of a book only if there is no demand for that book.”
From the library halls, a reader can take out a maximum of 12 books at a time.
The return date of a book can be extended either electronically or by submitting a direct request. The extension is allowed only once.
In case of the loss of a library item, the subscriber is obliged to:
a) Replace the lost library item with an identical edition,
b) Compensate for the loss with a payment (the cost of the lost item plus 50 (fifty) GEL).
The final settlement with the student is carried out in coordination with the relevant faculty branch and the university library.
A reader receives a warning from the library administration for physically damaging a book (such as writing on pages or tearing out pages).
Failure to receive a notification about an overdue book does not exempt the reader from their obligations.
