Resolution of the Academic Council of GTU Regarding the Higher Education Reform Initiated by the Government of Georgia
“The Legal Entity of Public Law (LEPL) – the Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University does not agree with the possible merger of the LEPL Georgian Technical University with the LEPL Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University,” states a resolution of the Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University (No. 01-05-04/03), dated 5 February 2026.
On 5 February, the Academic Council of the Georgian Technical University discussed, within the framework of the higher education reform initiated by the Government of Georgia, the possible merger of the LEPL Georgian Technical University with the LEPL Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
Following the conclusion of the meeting, a decision was made and the relevant resolution was issued.
