Rector of the Georgian Technical University Expresses Condolences to the Family and Colleagues on the Passing of Professor Tengiz Jishkariani
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, expresses his sorrow on the death of Professor Tengiz Jishkariani, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Certified Energy Manager (CEM, AEE USA) and Energy Auditor (ENSI, Norway), Academician of the Georgian Energy Academy and laureate of the same Academy’s award, member of the International Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) of the United States of America and holder of the highest degree of the same association “Legend in Energy”, National Expert of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization UNIDO in Georgia, and expresses his condolences to the Jishkariani family and the Faculty of Power Engineering.
“An outstanding teacher and mentor of the younger generations, Professor Tengiz Jishkariani was an excellent researcher and a worthy citizen. His many years of activity were closely connected with the Georgian Technical University and the development of the energy sector in our country. Tengiz Jishkariani’s contribution to the introduction of energy efficiency, energy management, and modern energy approaches is particularly noteworthy. As an international expert and member of many prestigious organizations, he worthily represented Georgia in the global professional space, which once again emphasizes the importance and scale of his activities.
It is impossible not to mention the outstanding creative talent of Professor Tengiz Jishkariani and his great love for jazz music – for many years, he was a member of the legendary university orchestra and “Gepeis Jazz” and performed saxophone parts with unparalleled skill.
I extend my condolences to the family, relatives, friends, colleagues of Mr. Tengiz Jishkariani, the Georgian Energy Academy, and the Faculty of Power Engineering of the Georgian Technical University”, is stated in the condolence letter of the rector, academician David Gurgenidze.
