My project within the program was about assessing the impact of pesticides on human health, especially lung cancer risks. I first learned about data analysis and the use of machine learning models in practice. The results obtained are presented in Jupyter Notebook visualizations (see Figure 1, Figure 2), which capture the data preprocessing, balancing using the SMOTE method, and the results of evaluating various models (SVM, Random Forest, XGBoost). In addition, I got acquainted with the basic principles of working with medical images — under the guidance of professors, I took my first steps in this laboratory and studied the basic stages used in data analysis and model training. The report, which I compiled based on the internship, as well as the experience I gained within the program, is one of the important components of my master's thesis.

Within the framework of the program, my project envisaged conducting research on “Viral Diseases of Grapevine Culture”. Accordingly, my activities included both laboratory work and field work. Based on my work, I wrote an internship report, which will be an important part of my master's thesis.

At the University of Palermo, I completed key courses in the field of Plant Protection, including Phytopathology, Acarology, Integrated Pest Management of Arthropods, and Soil Science. I established friendly relationships with both professors and students at Palermo, who came not only from various parts of Europe but also from other continents. This experience will greatly contribute to broadening my professional knowledge and perspective in the future.

Within the framework of the program, my project envisaged conducting research on the topic: “Social Marketing of Wine”, the impact of wineries’ activity on Facebook on popularity and tourist attraction. Accordingly, my work included both the analysis of wineries’ pages on online platforms and direct contact with entrepreneurs and tourists. As part of the research, I studied marketing strategies that are used on the social network (Facebook) to effectively communicate with consumers and increase brand awareness. During the research process, I paid special attention to the level of consumer engagement, page design, type of published content and its effect on tourist attraction.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the topic of my project was "Study of viral diseases of cultivated grapevines". The main activities were carried out in the biological laboratory, and we also had the opportunity to gain practical experience in the vineyard.
