Vocational qualification awarded: Higher Vocational Qualification in Customs Study

Program Objective: The vocational program aims to develop and implement a program that ensures the preparation of a competitive workforce for the customs sector. Specifically, the program is to prepare a customs specialist capable of performing tasks related to crossing the customs border, customs clearance of goods, customs supervision, implementation of customs control, as well as tasks related to customs representation. The program also aims to prepare highly qualified specialists who will perform their duties in compliance with professional ethics, labor, and safety standards. Graduates will be equipped with both professional and general (transferable) skills.

Program Volume and Duration:

For Georgian-speaking students:

  • Volume: 93 credits
  • Duration: 66 weeks

For non-Georgian-speaking students:

  • Volume: 123 credits
  • Duration: 88 weeks

Admission prerequisite: Full general education

Employment Opportunities: Graduates with a higher vocational qualification in customs affairs may be employed in both the public sector (LEPL Revenue Service – Customs Department), as well as in the private sector (brokerage, consulting, trade, industrial, transportation, and logistics companies, diplomatic institutions, NGOs, customs warehouses, and terminals). In the public sector, they may work as customs officers at border crossing points or customs clearance offices. In the private sector, they may work as customs brokers, customs declarants, or customs clearance specialists. These functions may also overlap with logistics specialist positions or customs terminal service roles. For career advancement, graduates may continue their studies at higher levels in business and administration fields.
