GTU Rector Congratulates Prominent Statesman, Scientist, and Teacher Nodar Chitanava on His 90th Anniversary
Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, on behalf of the university community, congratulates the statesman, scientist and teacher, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Chief Researcher of the Irakli Zhordania Center for the Study of Georgian Industrial Forces and Natural Resources of the Georgian Technical University, Academician of the Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences – Nodar Chitanava on his 90th anniversary.
It is noteworthy that after the declaration of independence of Georgia, Nodar Chitanava took an active part in the historical process that, by the Act of April 9, 1991, recognized the restoration of Georgia’s state independence. Along with state activities, he was actively engaged in scientific and pedagogical work. For many years, he headed the Scientific Research Institute of Socio-Economic and Regional Problems of Georgia. Currently, he works at the Irakli Zhordania Center for the Study of Georgian Production Forces and Natural Resources of the Georgian Technical University. Nodar Chitanava’s research concerns such important issues as the transformation processes of the national economy, the socio-economic development of the agro-industrial complex and regions, land resources, and the problems of using the country’s intellectual potential, etc.
