Elections for the Position of Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems Held
In accordance with Article 25 of the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”, Article 22 of the University Charter approved by the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia No. 133/n of September 9, 2013 “On Approval of the Charter of the Legal Entity of Public Law – Georgian Technical University”, Paragraphs 10 and 11, Articles 27 and 28 of Article 2 of the Regulation “On Conducting Elections of the Governing Bodies (Governing Subjects) of the Georgian Technical University and the Faculty”, based on the decision taken at the meeting of the Council of the Faculty of Informatics and Management Systems of the Georgian Technical University on March 7, 2026 (Minutes of the Meeting No. 2):
1. Elections to fill the position of Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems will be held on March 31st, 2026.
2. The Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty will be elected by the Faculty Council for a term of 4 years.
3. The position of Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Faculty may be held by a person who meets the following requirements:
a) is a member of the Faculty Council, a professor or an associate professor;
b) has at least 5 years of work experience;
c) The candidate is required to:
- Knowledge of quality assurance standards and guidelines developed by the European Association for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area;
- Knowledge of ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accreditation standards and procedures;
- Knowledge of the state language (knowledge of a foreign language is desirable);
- Knowledge of quality management principles in the field of education;
- Knowledge of computer programs – MS Office;
- Sociability, teamwork skills;
- Knowledge of the following legal acts:
1. Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”;
2. Law of Georgia “On Development of the Quality of Education”;
3. Law of Georgia “On Professional Education”.
4. “On determining the rules and conditions for granting qualifications to students upon completion of higher education programs implemented in cooperation between a higher education institution of Georgia and San Diego State University, different from those established by the legislation of Georgia for issuing and recognizing documents confirming qualifications” Resolution of the Government of Georgia No. 18 of January 30, 2015;
5. “On approving the regulations for accreditation of educational programs of educational institutions and fees” Order of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia No. 65/n of May 4, 2011;
6. Order No. 99/n of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia dated October 1, 2010 “On Approval of the Regulations for Authorization of Educational Institutions and Fees”;
7. Order No. 3 of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia dated January 4, 2007 “On Approval of the Rules for Calculating Higher Education Programs by Credits”;
8. Order No. 69/n of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia dated April 10, 2019 “On Approval of the National Qualifications Framework and the Classifier of Fields of Study”;
9. Order No. 121/N of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia dated December 10, 2010, “On Approval of the Credit System for Vocational Education Programs”;
10. Order No. 120/N of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia dated December 28, 2020, “On Approval of the Credit System in the Field of Vocational Education”;
Internal regulatory documents of the Georgian Technical University:
- Internal quality assurance mechanisms at the Georgian Technical University;
- Instruction on the management of the educational process at the Georgian Technical University;
- Rules for planning, developing, evaluating and developing an educational program at the Georgian Technical University;
- Rules for reviewing and approving the curriculum (syllabus); Rules for assigning a course (subject) code;
- Regulations on the Master’s Program of the Georgian Technical University; Regulations on the Doctoral Program of the Georgian Technical University;
- Regulations on the University Dissertation Council of the Georgian Technical University;
- Other internal university documents.
4. Candidates must submit an application and attached documents from March 18, 2026 including March 26, to the Faculty Election Commission – Tbilisi, Kostava St. 77, GTU Building VI, 3rd floor, room № 303 A, applications are accepted from 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m., except weekends and holidays.
5. The application must be accompanied by:
a) Copy of identity document (ID card, passport);
b) Certificate of academic position held at the relevant faculty of the GTU;
c) Information on education, work experience, academic degree;
d) Action plan;
e) Documents confirming the candidate’s compliance with the requirements set forth.
6. The Academic Council, by a qualified majority (2/3) of votes, by secret ballot, individually decides on the issue of participation in the competition for an administrative position by a person aged 65 and over. A person of the specified age must additionally submit the consent of the Academic Council to the Faculty Election Commission. For this purpose, he/she must submit an application to the University Human Resources Management and Records Service by March 17, 2026. The person’s presence at the Academic Council during the consideration of his issue is mandatory, otherwise the issue will not be considered.
7. The public presentation of the action plan by the candidates to the Faculty Council will be scheduled for March 30, 2026.
