FERMILAB
Since 2019, Stu has become an official partner of the American particle physics giant Fermilab (Fermilab – Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Illinois, Chicago). Fermilab is the flagship national laboratory of the US Department of Energy (DOE), a world leader in high intensity accelerators and neutrino research.
The scale of collaboration was qualitatively expanded in March 2022, when an official international agreement and joint research memorandum was signed between Fermilab and Georgia Technical University – i-CRADA (International Cooperative Research and Development Agreement). This landmark document empowers scientists, engineers and students at STU’s Institute for Quantum Physics and Engineering Technology to co-author one of the largest underground science megaprojects in US history. Based on this agreement, Georgian researchers and young engineers work closely with American colleagues, receive international grants and are involved in the continuous process of knowledge transfer.
Based on this solid international legal framework, the Stu team today responsibly plays its role in one of the largest neutrino experiments of the century:
