Biography

Gia Petriashvili is a chief research scientist at the Vladimer Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics of Georgian Technical University, in the Department of Optically Controlled Anisotropic Systems, and represents the institute on the Academic Council. He has been with the institute since 1989. His research concerns the optics and electro-optics of liquid crystals, the subject of the dissertation he defended in 1994. Since 1998 he has collaborated with the University of Calabria (Italy).
