Biography

Zurab Varazashvili has headed the Engineering Geology Department of the Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology of Georgian Technical University since 2016. He graduated from the Faculty of Mining and Geology of the Georgian Polytechnic Institute in 1973 and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Geological Sciences in 1993. From 1974 to 2002 he led an engineering geology group at the Geological Department of Georgia. His research deals with soil erosion, debris-flow processes and geotechnical assessment.
