GTU Rector Meets with Rector of Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, met with the Rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio electronics, Professor Vadim Bogush.
The rectors discussed the prospects of future scientific and academic cooperation and agreed on the details of the partnership.
The working meeting, which was held at the university, was attended by the President of the GTU Supervisory Board, Professor Zurab Gudavadze, Vice-Rectors – Professors Tamar Tsereteli and Tamar Lominadze, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, Professor Taliko Zhvania, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Chemical Technologies, Professor Liana Targamadze, and Advisor to the Rector, Konstantine Basilashvili.
The parties discussed the main issues of cooperation, including: opportunities for expanding cooperation in science and education; prospects for the development of academic cooperation; development of short-term and long-term exchange programs for professors, researchers, and students of the two universities, and the development of joint scientific research projects, etc.
As the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze noted, the parties will develop joint educational programs in accordance with mutual interest. In addition, they will cooperate in the implementation of joint scientific research, which in turn implies the active involvement of the scientific academic staff and students of both universities, considering the predetermined research priorities of each university.
“I am confident that the partnership between the Georgian Technical University and the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio electronics will contribute to the development of modern engineering and technological directions, the sharing of innovative ideas, and the implementation of joint research projects. Our goal is to develop joint academic and research projects, joint educational programs, and scientific initiatives in which professors, researchers, and students of both universities will be actively involved. It is also important to develop exchange programs for students and academic staff, which will allow young researchers and future specialists to gain new experience. I am confident that this cooperation will lay the foundation for a multifaceted and long-term partnership, which will bring significant results for both universities, as well as have a positive impact on the future relations of the two countries”, said Academician David Gurgenidze.
According to the rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio electronics, educational and research cooperation in the engineering and technological direction will bring many benefits to both universities. According to Professor Vadim Bogushi, partnership with the Georgian Technical University is an important and promising step in sharing knowledge, experience, and research resources in the field of modern engineering and information technologies, which will contribute to the development of new technological solutions and the expansion of integration of young people into the international academic space.
The memorandum of cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio electronics will be signed tomorrow by the rectors, Academician David Gurgenidze and Professor Vadim Bogushi. The document signing ceremony will be held within the framework of the seventh session of the Georgia-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation.
