Information Meeting Within the Framework of the “Horizon Europe” Program
On March 17, an information meeting was held in the hall of the Central Scientific Library of the Georgian Technical University, dedicated to discussing the current opportunities of the European Union’s research and innovation framework program, “Horizon Europe”.
The event’s aim was to inform the academic and scientific community, as well as administrative personnel, about the mechanisms and strategic priorities for participation in international grant programs. The meeting was opened by Head of the “Horizon Europe” National Office in Georgia, Levan Khetsuriani, who emphasized the role of the program in the internationalization process of the country’s scientific potential.
The program’s national contact persons presented detailed presentations on the following sectoral directions:
- Environmental Protection and the Digital Agenda: Maka Zhorzholiani reviewed the specifics of Cluster 6 (Environment, Biodiversity and Digital Transformation) and Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy and Mobility) and the rules for submitting project applications.
- Innovation and Cultural Heritage: Anna Goletiani introduced the participants to the priorities of the third pillar “Innovative Europe”, ways to commercialize cultural initiatives and activities planned within the framework of the New European Bauhaus 2026.
The final part of the event featured a question-and-answer session, during which participants received practical recommendations on preparing grant applications, finding partners, and managing administrative procedures. Such meetings foster the active involvement of university researchers in the European scientific community and help identify innovative projects.
