Signed Memorandum of Cooperation Between GTU and Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics
The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, and the Rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio electronics, Professor Vadim Bogush, signed a memorandum of understanding to expand academic cooperation in science and education within the framework of the seventh session of the Georgia-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation.
The memorandum aims to deepen the partnership between the universities and implement joint educational and scientific projects. Within the framework of the document, the parties agreed on the development of academic staff and student exchange programs, the implementation of joint research projects, and the organization of international conferences and scientific events.
According to the rector of the Georgian Technical University, the cooperation between the two universities involves sharing experiences and knowledge in information technology, radio electronics, and innovative technologies, which will contribute to strengthening the scientific and educational potential of both universities. As Academician David Gurgenidze stated, the agreement will contribute to the expansion of international academic ties, the creation of new research opportunities, and the professional development of students and researchers.
“Expanding international academic partnerships is one of the strategic priorities for the Georgian Technical University. It is in this context that we attach special importance to the memorandum signed with the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio electronics, which lays the foundation for a new stage of our institutional cooperation. The agreement aims to deepen relations and develop result-oriented scientific and educational cooperation in such important areas as information technologies, radio electronics, engineering, and modern digital innovations. The implementation of joint research projects, the involvement of young scientists and doctoral students in the international scientific space, as well as the development of academic staff and student exchange programs are especially important for us, which is significant for young researchers and doctoral students. They are given the opportunity to participate in international research projects, work in multinational scientific teams, gain experience in modern research laboratories and get acquainted with the latest technological approaches and methodologies. Exchange programs, in turn, create an important academic environment for intensive sharing of knowledge and experience. Students and academic staff have the opportunity to get acquainted with the educational models, research infrastructure, and innovative practices of partner universities, which provides a significant stimulus for their professional development and academic growth.
In addition, within the framework of cooperation, it will be possible to implement joint scientific conferences, research laboratory projects, and international educational programs. The memorandum will significantly contribute to the development of scientific and educational capabilities of both universities, as well as to strengthening international cooperation in science and technology,” says David Gurgenidze.
As the rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radio electronics (BSUIR) stated during a meeting with the GTU rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, BSUIR, founded in 1964, is one of the most famous technical universities in Belarus, where the directions of informatics, IT, and radio electronics are taught at 10 faculties.
According to Professor Vadim Bogush, the memorandum of cooperation signed between GTU and BSUIR envisages such important issues as the development of joint programs based on common institutional priorities for research and program development, as well as the implementation of joint research through the exchange of academic and technical personnel.
“For us, it is particularly important to develop a partnership based on common interests in science and innovation. The memorandum signed with the Georgian Technical University will create a real opportunity for implementing joint educational programs and research projects. We are confident that the exchange of academic and technical personnel, as well as the students’ involvement will significantly strengthen the potential of both universities and contribute to the development of modern technologies”, says Vadim Bogush.
