The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, on behalf of the university community, congratulates Levan Gugava, a second-year student of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Chemical Technologies and member of the Georgian national para-judo team, on his outstanding achievement at the European Championships – becoming a two-time European champion. He also congratulates the Georgian para-judo team on winning the continental championship title for the second consecutive time.
According to the Rector, Levan Gugava’s success is a particular source of pride for the Georgian Technical University. Academician David Gurgenidze notes that the successful combination of strong academic performance and a sporting career serves as an excellent example for young people and once again demonstrates the outstanding results that can be achieved through determination, hard work, and the full realization of one’s potential.
“I sincerely congratulate the Georgian National Para-Judo Team on its outstanding performance and significant success at the European Championships, and I personally congratulate Levan Gugava, a student of the Georgian Technical University, on becoming European Champion for the second time.
This victory is a clear testament to Levan Gugava’s professionalism, will, and tireless dedication. It is particularly gratifying and a source of pride that such a successful athlete is a student of our university and represents Georgia with dignity on the international stage.
It is gratifying that the Georgian national team won four medals on the very first day of the championship in Heidelberg, including two gold medals. Our student made a major contribution to this outstanding achievement.
On behalf of the Georgian Technical University, I congratulate Levan Gugava on becoming a two-time European champion. I wish him good health, many new victories, and, at the same time, an interesting and successful student life. I am confident that, through his hard work and determination, he will continue to bring honor to Georgia and his alma mater in the future.”
