Tbilisi City Hall offers paid internships to students
“It is especially important for the Georgian Technical University that students have the opportunity to engage in practical activities during their studies and gain professional experience in a real working environment. That is why we attach special importance to the initiative of the Tbilisi Municipality City Hall Inspection City Service. It is important that the City Hall places the right emphasis on the areas that are priorities for the country’s development and the management of urban processes today. Construction, transport, architecture, agricultural, and mining areas are directly related to the development of a modern city, infrastructure projects, environmental safety, and sustainable development. Offering a paid internship program to students of these specialties is a timely decision,” said Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Professor Tamar Tsereteli, at a meeting of students and representatives of the Tbilisi City Hall.
The Tbilisi Municipality City Hall Inspection Service is announcing a paid internship for GTU students. The Head of the Municipal Inspection Gogi Chikovani introduced the students of the GTU’s faculties of Construction, Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, Agricultural Sciences and Chemical Technologies, Mining Geology and Sustainable Mountain Development in detail about the terms of the internship program, participation criteria, as well as the specifics of the Municipal Inspection’s activities.
According to the GTU Vice-Rector, Tbilisi City Hall pays special attention to supporting students in specialties that play a crucial role in the city’s development and the formation of a modern urban environment.
“It is important for us that students see the importance of their profession and the responsibility that is associated with their future activities. Such programs contribute to the development of professional skills as well as strengthening cooperation between the public sector and the university.”
– Professor Tamar Tsereteli
The meeting continued with a question-and-answer session, during which students received detailed answers to their questions about the program and gained a deeper understanding of topics relevant to their interests.
