Georgian Technical University Expresses Deep Sorrow over the Tragic Death of a Student

The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Chairman of the Standing Conference of Rectors of Georgia, Academician David Gurgenidze, the University Administration, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design, Professor Nugzar Khvedeliani, as well as the faculty’s academic staff and students, express their profound sorrow over the tragic death of a Bachelor student of Architecture program Guga Gurgenashvili, in the Ksani River near the village of Lamiskani, Kaspi Municipality, and extend their heartfelt condolences to the young man’s family, relatives, and friends.

“On behalf of the Rectorate and the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design of the Georgian Technical University, we express our deepest sorrow over the tragic passing of our student, Guga Gurgenashvili.

The loss of a talented and vibrant young man – a future architect – is an immeasurable tragedy for our university family. In these difficult moments, words cannot fully express the grief caused by such a devastating loss. Although Guga spent only one year at the university, he left a warm and lasting impression on his professors and fellow students. Had it not been for this heartbreaking tragedy, he would undoubtedly have achieved his goals and fulfilled his aspirations.

We extend our sincere condolences to Guga’s family and share in the grief of his parents, relatives, friends, and teachers. May the Georgian land be easy for him.”

– Academician David Gurgenidze
