GTU Doctoral Student Roman Tsertsvadze to Deliver a Lecture Course at a Leading Engineering University in France
Roman Tsertsvadze, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems of the Georgian Technical University, will deliver a lecture course at Toulouse INP – ENSEEIHT (N7) in France.
Roman Tsertsvadze, a doctoral student in the “Digital Telecommunications Technologies” doctoral program, was in France at one of Europe’s leading engineering and telecommunications universities—Toulouse INP – ENSEEIHT (N7) – within the framework of the Erasmus+ academic mobility program.
During the visit, the young researcher conducted active scientific work in an international academic environment, as a result of which he was invited to deliver a lecture series at the university. Roman Tsertsvadze will lecture students on fixed optical and satellite networks. The course covers current issues in modern telecommunication technologies and aims to share the latest scientific achievements and practical experience with students.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems at GTU, Toulouse INP – ENSEEIHT (N7) is considered one of Europe’s most prestigious higher education institutions for engineering, information technology, and telecommunications education. As Professor Taliko Zhvania states, the opportunity for a Georgian doctoral student to deliver a lecture course at this university once again confirms the high level of international academic cooperation at the Georgian Technical University and the competitiveness of young Georgian scientists in the global academic community.
“It is important that our doctoral students engage not only in research but also in educational activities within the international academic community. Roman Tsertsvadze’s opportunity to deliver a lecture course at one of the most prestigious engineering schools in France is a significant recognition of his high academic qualifications, scientific competence, and professional development.
Fixed optical and satellite networks are fundamental components of modern digital telecommunications infrastructure. Today, as the world rapidly transitions toward gigabit connectivity, the development of 5G/6G networks, the integration of low-Earth-orbit satellite systems, and the creation of a new architecture for global internet connectivity make research and expertise in this field particularly important.
It is especially significant that our doctoral student will present a lecture course on this timely and strategically important topic to an international audience. This is not only his personal achievement but also recognition of the scientific school of the Georgian Technical University and the research potential developed at the university in the field of digital telecommunication technologies. Such international academic activities contribute to the establishment of new scientific collaborations, the exchange of knowledge and experience, the initiation of joint research projects, and, ultimately, the integration of Georgian engineering education into the European educational and research space.”
– Professor Taliko Zhvania
According to doctoral student Roman Tsertsvadze, his three-month academic visit to Toulouse INP within the framework of the Erasmus+ exchange program was an important professional and scientific experience.
As he noted, working in an international research environment gave him the opportunity to deepen his knowledge of modern digital telecommunication technologies, collaborate with international researchers, and participate in cutting-edge scientific research.
“I am confident that this experience will contribute to the development of new international scientific collaborations and the implementation of joint research projects in the future. This period was not just an academic exchange for me. As a doctoral student in Digital Telecommunications Technologies, I had the opportunity to work in an international research environment, gain new knowledge, overcome new challenges, and engage in diverse professional collaborations.
At the same time, living in Toulouse gave me the opportunity to experience a new culture firsthand, meet extraordinary people from different countries, and create memories that will last a lifetime. I am sincerely grateful to my academic supervisors, colleagues, and the entire Toulouse INP community for the support, encouragement, and warm welcome I received throughout this period. Although this exchange program has come to an end, it is not goodbye. I look forward to returning with renewed motivation, fresh ideas, and even greater enthusiasm for research and international cooperation. I thank everyone who became part of this special journey.”
