GTU Researchers were on a working visit to the University of Twente
A group of researchers from the Department of Engineering Physics at the Georgian Technical University, consisting of Professor Paata Kervalishvili and Associate Professors Tamar Berberashvili and Lali Chakhvashvili, paid a working visit to the University of Twente in the Netherlands within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
The Georgian Technical University delegation was hosted by the renowned scientist and innovator, Professor Hans Hilgenkamp of the University of Twente.
The purpose of the five-day visit was to deepen academic and scientific cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the University of Twente, exchange experience, become acquainted with ongoing research projects, and identify prospects for future joint educational and scientific initiatives.
According to Professor Paata Kervalishvili, the working meetings focused on opportunities for joint research, international grant projects, student and academic staff exchange programs, and expanding scientific cooperation in the field of engineering physics.
“Our group held an official meeting with Rita de Wilde-Brink, Head of the Department of Educational Support and Internationalization at the Faculty of Science and Technology. During the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening international cooperation between the universities, expanding student and academic staff mobility, and developing future educational projects. Our delegation also had the opportunity to work closely with several of the university’s research groups. We participated in a joint seminar organized by the ICE (Interfaces and Correlated Electron Systems) and QTM (Quantum Transport and Matter) research groups, where we presented our report entitled “Quantum Materials Synthesized by the Laser Method”. The presentation was followed by active scientific discussions, an exchange of experience, and planning for future joint projects.
During the meetings and seminars, we also presented our scientific research, including: ‘The Fractal Concept for Understanding the Structural Features of Nanobiological Ensembles”; “Vibrational Properties of Nanobioparticles and the Concept of Resonance Therapy”; “Boron-10 Isotope-Enriched Semiconductor Sensor Systems”; and “Research on Semiconductor–Graphene Nanosystems for Photovoltaic Applications.”<
