GTU Team Participated in the First Student “B2B SALES” Competition of the Eastern Partnership Countries in Yerevan
The student team of the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering at the Georgian Technical University participated in the first student “B2B Sales” competition of the Eastern Partnership countries, held at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA), within the framework of the “LISS24” project of the European Union’s Erasmus+ program.
It is noteworthy that Associate Professor Tamar Rukhadze of the Department of Transport and Industry Management, together with students Nika Goglidze, Zura Vatitadze, and David Jalagonia from the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering, visited Yerevan on a working visit as part of the competition.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering, six leading universities from Georgia and Armenia participated in the large-scale educational event. As Associate Professor Boris Githolendia noted, each participating university was represented by a team of three students and one coach. The competition was held in two stages. On the first day, three parallel “Room sub-competitions” were held, with 18 students competing. From each group of six participants, the two highest-scoring students advanced to the final round, where the overall winners and prize winners were determined.
“The main goal of the international project “Learn–Innovate–Sell–Succeed” (LISS24) is to strengthen B2B (Business-to-Business) sales and innovation capabilities at Armenian and Georgian universities, particularly in the field of engineering, in the new digital era. Participation in such international projects is not merely an academic activity for students – it is a powerful platform that significantly contributes to their professional and personal development. It opens the door from local classrooms to the international arena. Students return to the university with greater self-confidence, fresh ideas, stronger motivation, and the knowledge and skills that make them competitive professionals in the global marketplace. Every such international experience is an investment in their future.”
– Associate Professor Boris Githolendia
As part of the project, a “Sales Laboratory” has been established at the Georgian Technical University. The laboratory has been equipped with modern technological equipment, and qualified personnel have received specialized training. With the support of the GTU administration, the laboratory’s physical workspace was fully renovated in the university’s First Academic Building, within the Faculty of Transport Systems and Mechanical Engineering. Notably, this is the first laboratory of its kind in Georgia, and it is expected to significantly strengthen cooperation between the university and the business sector. The laboratory will provide businesses with research services to enhance their sales potential and improve their competitiveness.
