Workshop on writing HORIZON EUROPE and ERASMUS+ projects held at GTU
On May 15, a workshop was held at the Georgian Technical University, organized by the Technology and Grant Projects Office, dedicated to preparing and writing project applications for the Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ programs.
The primary objective of the workshop was to share the practical tools and knowledge necessary to transform a research or educational idea into a structured, competitive European research application.
As the Head of the Technology and Grant Projects Office, Giorgi Mikiashvili noted, the meeting is part of a larger-scale initiative.
“Our office has launched a series of practical training sessions aimed at providing the university’s scientific and academic community with real, tangible skills for working with international foundations. Our goal is to equip every researcher and project author not only with theoretical knowledge, but also with the practical tools that will make their ideas competitive at the European level.“
– Head of the Office Giorgi Mikiashvili
During the workshop, participants were introduced in detail to the basic logic of writing European Union (EU) projects. During the session, attention was focused on such important issues as:
- Formation of a fundable project idea and its characteristics;
- Planning activities, establishing expected results and impact;
- Structuring work packages;
- Common mistakes that applicants make in the process of writing projects.
The practical part of the meeting was devoted to discussing the basic principles of project application forms and budget filling.
The workshop was held in an interactive mode. After its completion, participants received specific guidelines on how to develop their own project ideas and how to prepare them in accordance with the requirements of international grant competitions.
Similar workshops are planned for the future, aiming to further strengthen grant opportunities for the university’s academic and administrative staff, enhance participation in international projects, and increase the number of competitive project applications.
